As we're transitioning into the holiday season, I thought this was a perfect time to post the Great Gatsby wedding invitations that we [Whimsy B. Paperie] custom designed for a special couple. We wanted to incorporate the Art Deco feel with perfect accent of golds and blacks. We custom designed these invitations for a client of the lovely girls over at Above All Events.

What Maverick Wore I

One of my favorite things to do is style my little babe / best friend, Maverick August. Although he's a rough, athletic and rambunctious 16 month old, he still has to look stylish, of course. Looking stylish while simultaneously running, kicking a soccer ball, swinging a hockey stick, golf club or anything that resembles it, can be interesting; but it's totally possible and totally cute. As we were heading off to meet friends for an early lunch, I took some photos of my dapper dude. They'll be many more posts in the "What Maverick Wore" series, but for now, here's the kickoff.

Back in Action

After a bit of a hiatus...almost nine months [and no, neither one of us was creating a baby] but who's counting? Well, we actually hope you are. Jess and I are excited to get back to blogging! A lot has happened in our lives over this time and we would love to catch up. Although we both work in the wedding industry, we will continue to write about all things in our life. From babies to bargains; estate sales to event planning; date nights to decor; and more. We love to have this as a forum to share our life//style and hope you'll come back along for the ride.

Mansion at Timber Point Showcase

This past Sunday I was invited to attend the Mansion at Timber Point Showcase. I had so much fun preparing and decorating my table. My ultra-creative mom made a killer tulle tablecloth and my sister Madison assisted me throughout the show. I love my family!

I had the privilege of meeting so many lovely brides who had awesome visions for their wedding day accessories. I can't wait to work with these beauties. I'm looking forward to meeting even more brides-to-be this Sunday at the Bourne Mansion showcase in Oakdale, New York!

Dreamy Greenhouse Photo Shoot

On a snowy day in January, we held a photo shoot at Christina Bohn's glorious greenhouse studio in Stony Brook. Our goal was to showcase Ashleigh's accessories and Jess' stationery together and separately, in both an editorial and whimsical fashion. We had visions of mixing vintage glamour with rustic elegance. These visions came to life in the greenhouse.

We were surrounded by fabulous yet cozy staging: chandeliers, french provincial couches, sheer drapery, stunning backdrops and a chippy antique farm table, to name a few. Not only did we pull off an amazing shoot but we had the best time!

With the music turned up and a collaboration group of beautifully talented women, Christina captured awesome photos through her lens. We had three gorgeous models: Kelsey, Marina and Kaleigh (our flower girl!) Master hair designer, Nicole D'Angio and makeup artist, Connie McDonough glammed these beauties. Heidi of Sugar Magnolias Flowers created a breathtaking bridal bouquet and Danielle of Flour & Co. made a [delicious] three-tier wedding cake that was decorated with Ashleigh's new cake accessories. A big THANK YOU to all of these amazing women!
